Setting the Device Password

This section describes the procedure for setting or changing a device's password. If a password is set for a device, the password must be input to perform the operations requiring administrator's privileges such as configuring protocol settings and viewing device information. You can set a password for each device.
  1. In the device list, select the device, and then select [Change Password] from the [Device] menu.
    You can also right-click a device in the list (with a Macintosh, by clicking it while holding down the control key) and select the [Change Password] from the menu displayed.

  2. Set or change the password in the [Change Device Password] dialog box.

    [Old password]:
    Input the password that is currently set for the device. If no password is set, leave this blank.
    [New password]:
    Input the new password to be set.

    [Confirm]:
    Input the new password a second time.

  3. Click the [OK] button.
    The new password is enabled.
