Menu Bar

You can select the NetSpot Device Installer for IPX menu commands. For descriptions of the various menu commands, refer to NetSpot Device Installer for IPX Menu Commands.

Device List

The device list displays a list of the devices that were detected by NetSpot Device Installer for IPX. The device list shows the names, current status, product names, locations and MAC addresses of devices. Right-clicking on a device in the list displays the menu commands available for the device. For descriptions of the various menu commands, refer to NetSpot Device Installer for IPX Menu Commands. An icon indicating the current device status appears to the left of the device name. (The device status is also displayed in the [Status] column.) The icons have the following meanings: (ready for printing) : The device is ready to print. (Warning) : There is a problem with the device, but it does not affect printing. For example, this icon appears when the toner supply is running low. (Error) : A device error has occurred. Printing is not possible, however the user can correct the error. For example, this icon appears when a paper tray is out of paper. (Service Call) : An error has occurred that cannot be corrected by the user. Please contact the dealer from whom you purchased the device or a customer service center. (Unknown) : Acquisition of error data from the device failed or is still pending. (Connection Terminated) : Communication with the device is not possible because the device is not turned on, or a network or other problem has occurred. If this condition persists, the device is automatically removed from the device list.

Status Bar

Displays the number of devices in the device list and an indicator that shows the device detection status. (The information that is displayed depends on the network environment.)

Sorting by items in the device list

You can sort the device list by clicking on the item titles. Clicking an item title sorts the list according to that item. Clicking it a second time sorts the list in reverse order. Upon starting NetSpot Device Installer for IPX, the device list is sorted by device name. Clicking [Status] sorts devices in the following order: Service Call Error Warning Connection Terminated Ready Unknown When a new device is discovered, it is added to the list in the appropriate place.
